Introducing Our Five Panelists for Live In MDE 3: Celebrating the Power of Global Community

El Poblado MDE is excited to present the eagerly awaited third edition of Live In MDE on November 11, 2023. Set in the iconic Medellín Museum of Modern Art, 'Live In MDE 3: Celebrating the Power of Global Community' promises a captivating panel discussion with esteemed industry professionals. 

In this article, learn more about the four distinguished panelists who will be gracing this vibrant community event!

Panelist #1: Daniel Hernández Estrada

Daniel Hernández Estrada stands at the forefront of La Rufina as its Creative Director, a local community business renowned for its eclectic portfolio including custom motorcycles, fashion, apparel, food, and travel. 

With over two decades of experience in the textile industry, Daniel is a seasoned graphic designer specializing in clothing and denim branding. His expertise spans the complete spectrum of intermediary processes that influence graphic applications in the fashion sector. He has served as a designer and Creative Director for several fashion brands, notably CHEVIGNON in Retail Apparel and Fashion, marking his prominence in the industry.

In addition, Daniel is an advisor for various brands and companies across the global textile industry, contributing his insights and expertise in markets that include Colombia, the United States, Italy, Peru, and Spain.

His passion for fostering creative expression and change is evident in his role as the Founder and Creative Director of BOYCOTT X. This global platform empowers changemakers through diverse mediums such as journalism, visual arts, music, and engaging forums and workshops.

Panelist #2: Manuelita García aka Bad Milk

Manuelita, better known as Bad Milk, is a rising star in the Latin music scene. Born in 2001 in Medellín, Colombia, she began her musical journey in 2020. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, she launched her YouTube channel on March 15 and debuted her single, "Maybe," in July. 

Taking inspiration from a song by Tyler The Creator for her stage name, Bad Milk quickly gained recognition with her unique voice and eclectic mix of hip-hop, reggae, R&B, trap, and experimental pop. After her debut, renowned producer Ovy on the Drums took notice. Together, they produced her second single, “EGO,” and a collaboration titled “Angelito” with Colombian singer Beéle. With hits such as “AL NATURAL” and “De x Vida,” Bad Milk boasts 142.4K monthly Spotify listeners.

Beyond her music, Bad Milk champions the empowerment of women and girls. Her message, combined with her talent, has earned her accolades. YouTube included her in its Foundry New Class of 2021 program, which supports independent artists. Spotify named her Artist of the Month in October 2022, and she represents Adidas Colombia as an ambassador. 

For Bad Milk, music is more than just sound. She views it as her purpose, exploring varied sonic realms and emotions. She says, “I don’t like to confine my creativity. Music is my true calling, undoubtedly my purpose here.”

Panelist #3: Maria del Carmen Mesa Estrada

Maria del Carmen Mesa Estrada is a dedicated and innovative professional, currently holding the position of Management and Production Professional at Parque Explora. Her expertise lies in audiovisual and multimedia communication that she learnt at the University of Antioquia  with a specialization in cinematography and film production she gets form National University of Colombia. She was honored with a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of Colombia for her exceptional academic potential. Over the years, she has played a pivotal role in numerous cultural initiatives and projects in Medellin.

At Parque Explora, a prestigious science museum and aquarium in Medellin, Mesa Estrada seamlessly blends culture, arts, and science. She channels her vast knowledge and passion into meaningful communication and projects within these areas, ensuring visitors of all ages have interactive and enlightening experiences. Maria del Carmen has deep roots in Medellin's cultural scene, particularly with the Red de Casas de Cultura, Teatros y UV, where she oversaw and coordinated an array of cultural events and activities throughout the city.

Panelist #4: Juan Duque

Juan Duque, a Paisa singer-songwriter, is captivating fans with his romantic melodies and fresh sound. Born on February 2, 1996, in Medellín, he began his musical journey in 2018. From a young age, he harbored a deep passion for music, crafting his own songs. He's now associated with the Warner Chappell Music label, working closely with elite producers from the Downtown Group.

While Juan stands out among urban singers, his rise to fame started with humor and prank videos on YouTube, along with family collaborations on sketches for "Latiners." Eventually, he found his niche in the music industry, offering a unique fusion of Latin, Pop, and R&B. His songs often explore the nuances of love.

Tracks like "X Ti Lo Digo," "+ Chimbita," and "Hotline" have topped charts not just in Colombia, but across various Latin American countries.On Spotify alone, he boasts over 600K monthly listeners. In his music career, he's collaborated with artists such as Arévalo, MYGUEL, and Daniela Legarda. A highlight was in March 2022, when he opened for Zion and Lennox in Medellín.

A passionate soccer enthusiast since childhood, Juan became an official ambassador for Budweiser during the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Beyond his music, it's Juan's charisma and authenticity that resonate with fans. He uses his social media to share insights from both his personal and professional realms. With a robust 800K following on Instagram and over 200K on TikTok, he proudly represents his Paisa roots.
